Beautiful atmosphere and beautiful shop. Love theirs small coffee percolator. Presentation of simple sandwiches was really nice.
We had dinner here during a visit to York. The sandwiches were nice and my husband had s nice vanilla slice. I made the wrong choice with the warm scone as it wasnt what I was expecting it was too dry and brittle. But it was a nice spot for something to eat. Queuing on the stairs was difficult for me as Im unstable on my feet and the stairs are uneven as its in an old house. Once youre in the cafe its good. And the service was very good.
An essential tourist destination. Fantastic service if you are prepared to queue. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Immaculate inside, smart staff and tasty cakes and light bites.
Has to be done on a trip to York. Quicker to get into little Bettys cafe than larger restaurant. Queued for half an hour. Lovely food....bit pricey but treat yourself! Friendly staff.
It is the greatest place with a perfect service that you can find in York for an afternoon tea experience. I have explored quite a few places, but none give such a wholesome experience and exemplary produce at the same time. I will remember the visit for a long time, dreaming of coming back! Only downside may be that it may become quite pricey, with a tea with some sultana scones starting at 10 and a afternoon tea set with sandwiches for 20 per person!
